Silver Bow Chapter
|
||||||||||||||||
Silver Bow Chapter is Montana's first DAR chapter and was organized three and a half years after the appointment of a State Regent. It was organized December 21, 1897. The name Silver Bow was derived from Silver Bow Creek. Prospectors saw the sun break through clouds and its bright glance fell on the waters below the mountains, burnishing them to brilliancy as though they clasped the vale in a bow like silver. Eleven State Regents have come from this chapter. The first state conference was held in Butte in 1904. In 1906 Montana was represented for the first time at Continental Congress by a Silver Bow State Regent. They are very active with genealogical records. They support their community and youth in more ways than space permits. For membership information contact the Chapter Regent. Last updated 2/21/2004; Montana Daughters of the American Revolution.
